Semi Final Victory Pyramid

Yesterday the German Soccer team won the semi final against Turkey.
It turned out that I had the perfect strategy for bringing myself into a relaxed mood for supporting my team.

The steps have been:

1. Do a picnic with your favorite colleagues in a park

2. Create a 4-story-Germany-pyramid with these colleagues (the dog was there only by coincidence - no idea where he came from)

3. Scream "Schweiniiiii" like hell and yell your lungs out as often as you can together with the colleagues mentioned above.

4. Enjoy the crazy fans in the streets afterwards. Dunno how this seven guys fitted into that small car.

Twentyone24 - The Movie

Finally I managed to put some of my photos of the December's Twentyone24 session into a four minute video. Although the photos doesn't say much without the texts it might be easier for you to get an idea about that particular day in my life.

Big things to come. Next Saturday will be June 21st - the longest day of the year.
Exactly half a year ago Daniel and I did our 24 hour photo project in Nuremberg, on December 21st. It was a very intense day as I already wrote some months ago.
The plan is to do it again, this time in Berlin.
We will stroll Berlin for 24 hours, from midnight to midnight taking photos, talking to strangers, see unknown places and see what happens.
The photo above shows a lot of impressions from my Dec. 21st. It was much more work than I expected to sort the stuff and write down my thoughts from this day.
In the meanwhile I'm done and you can see the documentation of the first part of Twentyone24 on its own website www.twentyone24.de. I wrote it in German language but I appreciate any feedback.

I'll keep you posted about part 2. Wish me luck.

Schmap Online Travel Guide Photos

Click on photo to view it in different sizes on my Flickr account

There's a online travel guide called www.schmap.com.
They have small tidbits of information about a lot of cities and its main sights on their site.
The guys from Schmap asked me whether they might use two of my photos for their new edition of their guide. Obviously they found it on my Flickr account
Although I don't get any money for it I agreed because I like the thought that I can share my very own moments with some unknown folks.
Yes, I know almost no one will see the photos and Schmap has tons of photos online but I'm a little bit proud, though.

The first photo contains the bridge "Eiserner Steg" in Frankfurt and the second one was taken in Hamburg. It shows the old tunnel beyond the river Elbe, respectively the old wooden car elevators down in the tunnel.

Happy-Grumpy-Count

I´m sitting in a street café in Würzburg right now watching the people passing by.

I often think about whether the folks around me are happy or not.
This time I tried to get a quantified impression by counting the happy and the grumpy looking faces.
After 10 minutes I ended up with 31 happy faces and 34 grumpy ones.
That´s not too bad for a grumpy country like Germany, isn´t it? I mean almost half of the people look happy in a way.
Not sure in what column the stroke for myself would be.
Maybe I should ask a stranger whether I look happy. Am I afraid of the answer? Probably yes.
